Plano-Coudon served as construction manager at-risk for the installation of an animal MRI facility within University of Maryland, Baltimore’s Howard Hall. The project entailed specialty construction, including an RF-shielded room and a “floating” structural floor on top of an existing floor to support the new equipment. It involved delivering steel and concrete through a sixth-floor window in an occupied building and installing a six-ton magnet through an opening created in the exterior of the sixth floor while maintaining traffic on a main downtown street.
