Baltimore’s 193-year old Phoenix Shot Tower received a restoration and rehabilitation to make the tower publicly accessible. The work included a new electrical system, new lighting on each floor, support beams, new metal railings affixed to the landings, new treads on the stairs, and metal grates covering the formerly exposed space. The team also added more means of security as you climb from the 14th story to the roof including higher metal railings, wire mesh, and trusses. Among other improvements, the roof now has reinforced railings and lightning protection.
