Plano-Coudon Awarded a 2021 ULI WaveMaker Award

Plano-Coudon Awarded a 2021 ULI WaveMaker Award

Plano-Coudon is honored to have received a 2021 Urban Land Institute (ULI) WaveMaker Award for the Baltimore City Animal Services Project.

ULI Baltimore’s annual WaveMaker Awards recognizes outstanding local real estate development projects. The award committee evaluates each project in the following areas: Completeness, a sense of place and quality, sustainability, visionary and emulation, and a need. The winning projects each made a significant impact to its neighborhood and community.

The Baltimore City Animal Services (BARCS) project is a new state-of-the-art, 37,000 SF facility in the South Baltimore neighborhood of Cherry Hill. The new space allows for BARCS, the Community Cats Program, and City Animal Control, to be under one roof with access to vital resources and upgraded amenities. The facility is surrounded by an extensive amount of green space, four large bioretention ponds, and a parking lot that includes solar reflection coating.

This project complies with the International Green Building Code (IgCC) and is the first animal facility to be constructed in Baltimore City in over 30 years. This project is recognized as a catalyst for future community development and revitalization efforts in South Baltimore.

In 2019, Plano-Coudon received two WaveMaker Awards for the Guinness Open Gate Brewery & Barrel House project and for Broadway Market.

Congratulations to the entire project team and a special thanks to ULI Baltimore for this wonderful recognition!
