Upping their game: Mount Saint Joseph thanks Plano for help with athletic facility upgrades
Brett Plano was one of three Mount Saint Joseph High School alumni honored recently for helping the school complete major upgrades to its athletic facilities.
The multi-phase construction project included adding a new track, football stadium and turf field; upgrading the baseball complex; and building the Smith Center, a facility capable of hosting basketball tournaments, wrestling championships, league meets and conventions.
The Winter 2016 issue of “The Mount,” the alumni magazine, stated in part:
Progress would not have happened without extreme generosity from alumni who have given to the projects creatively, professionally and financially.
Brett Plano, a ’93 graduate, is an alumnus who used his creative and professional skills to guide Mount Saint Joseph High School through the process of undertaking these major construction projects on campus.
Plano … helped Mount Saint Joseph High School by negotiating with builders and consulting with the school so it could meet its goals for the project while staying on budget.
A board member at Mount Saint Joseph High School for nine years, Plano served on the plant committee for the athletics facility upgrades and then helped them come to fruition by served as the owner’s representative between the school and the contractors to oversee the process. His expertise and determination to help his alma mater were critical in allowing the projects to be completed ahead of schedule and on budget.
